Green Land cagers lift cup

Ludhiana, December 23

Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass branch, and BCM Arya Model School, Shastri Nagar, emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ sections, respectively, in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (Central Zone) Basketball Tournament (U-14) held at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar branch, today.

In the boys’ final, Green Land School defeated hosts Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, by 32 points in which the main architect was Tanbir who accounted for 17 baskets. In the play-off match, Delhi Public School outnumbered DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road branch, by 18 points.

In the girls’ section, BCM Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh Road branch, outclassed BCM Arya Model School, Shastri Nagar by 12 points. The highest scorer was Prarthana who chipped in with seven baskets. In the match to decide the third place, Delhi Public School trounced Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar branch, by 22 points. The main contributor was Taruna who scored 12 points. Rajesh Rudhra, chairman, chain of Green Land Schools, was the chief guest on the concluding day. He gave away prizes and congratulated the winners. Jyoti Pujara, principal of the host school, proposed the vote of thanks.
