Ludhiana, February 19
Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Gujarkhan campus, Model Town, organised the fourth Professor Gurbir Singh Sarna Memorial inter-college competitions to test managerial abilities of students.
Competitions such web page development, debugging, logo designing, PowerPoint presentation, and literary events such as elocution, what-an-idea, inspirational speech and various fine arts events were organised.
As many as 400 students from 24 colleges in and around Ludhiana participated in the event.
The competitions were organised to pay tributes to late Gurbir Singh Sarna, general secretary of the institute and former professor in economics at GGNIMT, Ludhiana.
The chief guest of the prize-distribution function was BS Aulakh, urologist and transplant surgeon. He appreciated the performance of all participants.
Principal Sandhya Mehta addressed the participants and shared the rationale behind the competitions. She said that such competitions enabled students to explore their managerial capabilities and helped them in identifying their strengths and weaknesses.
Gurvinder Singh, general secretary of the institute, gave away the prizes and congratulated all winners. He encouraged them to keep on learning through participation in various extra-curricular activities.
