The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared candidates for civic bypolls in both wards (50 and 71). The byelections will be held on June 21. Vishal Joshi has been chosen for ward number 50 while Jaswant Kaur will contest for ward number 71, the party stated.

The BJP has fielded Rajkumar Judo from ward 50 and its alliance partner SAD has nominated Jinder Kaur from ward 71.

From the Congress, Rajbir Kaur, widow of late Gurdeep Singh, alias Gurdeep Pehalwan, has been fielded for ward 50. Gurdeep Pehalwan was a sitting Congress councillor when he was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on June 2, 2018.

Besides, the Congress has fielded Gurmeet Kaur, wife of Lakhwinder Singh, from the reserved ward number 71.
