Entering record books for her feat of having 100% attendance at school for 13 years and still counting, 17-year-old Avneet Kaur from the city has bagged another award from the conglomeration of India Book of Record representatives for being chosen among the top 100 record holders in India for 2018.

Out of 1,300 records registered by students from India last year in India Book of Records, Avneet was among the top 100. Despite another feather in her cap, Avneet remains dedicated towards carrying on with her full attendance spree that she did not take leave from school and her family received the award on her behalf.

“She was excited, but said that she wanted to further attempt a record in this category. So, me and my grandfather went to Bhopal to receive the award,” said her brother Pawandeep Singh.

Avneet has been a student of Ajit Vidialay Senior Secondary School. Her mother Manbir Kaur, a housewife, and father Narinderpal Singh, a vendor at the Golden Temple, are already anticipating her to make another feat. But her biggest support is her brother Pawandeep, who terms amazing Avneet’s impressing representatives of different countries to come on list of top 100. “The conglomeration of record books included members from other countries as well. In a population of about 1.4 billion, to be chosen as top 100 record holders from our country is amazing at all levels.”
