Three armed persons took away an Innova car from a person late on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Hotel Clark Inn, located in posh Ranjit Avenue B-block area. The Ranjit Avenue police are investigating the case.

The vehicle belongs to a Delhi-based lawyer, who along with his family, has come to visit the holy city.

Atul Kharbanda, a resident of Janakpuri in Delhi, said he along with his wife Rashi, daughter Navya and son Avir came to the holy city in their Innova (DL-12-CD-1648) on Saturday afternoon. After shopping and dinner, they went to their room. Rajesh, the driver of the SUV, was having dinner in the vehicle.

Rajesh said he was having dinner in the vehicle when three motorcycle-borne attacked with baseball bats and pulled him out the vehicle. When he tried to resist, they beat him up and took out a pistol to intimidate him before fleeing away with the vehicle. He informed Atul Kharbanda, following which the police were informed.

Sukhwinder Singh, SHO, Ranjit Avenue police station, reached the spot for investigation. He said a case was registered in this connection. An alert was sounded and all exit and entry points were sealed, but they were yet to get any breakthrough.

The cops scrutinised the close circuit television (CCTV) footage of the hotel and nearby areas, but they are yet to get a clue of the robbers.
