The Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport witnessed an emergency landing of a SpiceJet flight from Bangkok as it had a tyre burst before the landing process at around 2 pm.
Airport officials said they received information at 2.09 pm that SpiceJet flight SG-90/281, which was scheduled to arrive in Amritsar from Bangkok at 2.10 pm, was declared full emergency by pilot. All the precautionary measures were taken at the airport. The flight landed safely at about 3.10 pm.
After landing, the tyre of the aircraft was replaced by airline engineers and then the aircraft was brought to the parking stand. 170 persons were on board. The situation at the airport is normal and peaceful, said an officer of the Central Industrial Security Force.
