Amritsar, January 23

Phulkari CAN conducted a cervical cancer awareness session for more than 200 women inmates of the Amritsar Central Jail today in support with jail authorities. Jail Superintendent, Arshdeep Singh Gill, programme head, Dr Rashmi Vij conducted the session and talked about the simple measures that could be adopted to prevent this curable cancer.

The session was facilitated by the leading criminal lawyer of the city advocate Navjot Chabba.

Phulkari CAN President Nidhi Sindhwani said, “This session was a part of several activities organised by the Phulkari CAN to mark January which is internationally celebrated as the Cervical Cancer Awareness month. The month-long activities included the display of a teal monument by Phulkari CAN at several prime locations. — TNS
