Sarabjit Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (North), said an investigation was initiated into the case. The police have took the body for a postmortem examination.

Acting on the statement of the deceased’s sister, the police have booked his in-laws for abetment of suicide. Among those booked are his wife.

The police said Jasdeep’s parents died several years ago. The deceased got married in 2011. However, due to his posting at different places, the couple did not enjoy cordial relations. He was upset over this. He worked with some security agency, it has been learnt.
