AMRITSAR: Several persons equipped with firearms thrashed the ‘adda’ (station) incharge of Orbit Bus Service and snatched over Rs 53,000 on Tuesday evening.

Several persons equipped with firearms thrashed the ‘adda’ (station) incharge of Orbit Bus Service and snatched over Rs 53,000 on Tuesday evening.

Gurwinder Singh, aka Raju, stated to the police that Gurkirat Singh, alias Lala, and Billa, both residents of Sangatpura village, along with five unknown persons attacked him at his office at the Interstate Bus Terminus. His subordinate Sukhjinder Singh was also present with him.

He said they were counting the cash when the accused turned up all of a sudden and entered in a brawl. “They used abusive language and pointed a pistol at me. Later, they snatched the cash,” he said. According to Gurwinder, the accused wanted to get him shunted out of the job and get himself recruited at the same position

.The police have registered a case under Sections 379-B, 323, 506, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act against the accused. No arrest has been made so far.
