Students of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) on Monday met university officials on the issue of mass reappear. Led by the Students for Society, along with PSU – Lakar, they also held a demonstration as they want the university to show them their answer sheets. They discussed the issue with Dean Academic Affairs Kamaljit Singh and Dean Student Welfare Sarbjot Singh Behal.

They had submitted a memorandum to university officials a few days ago.

They said the officials concerned of the university were not ready to show the answer sheets to those students who had been directed to reappear for their failure to get pass marks. The protesters also claimed that they were asked not to hold protest and were also threatened by a group of students. Gurpal Singh Guri, student leader, said, “We were asked not to protest. A member of our group was manhandled by some students but we went ahead with our plan.”

Sarbjot Singh Behal, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), Guru Nanak Dev University, said, “I am not aware of any kind of scuffle among students. The students had a few issues. They have been informed about the rules and they are satisfied.”
