Two arrested with heroin

TARN TARAN: The district police arrested two persons for allegedly possessing 375 gm of heroin from two different locations on Saturday.



Tarn Taran: The district police arrested two persons in separate cases for allegedly possessing 375 gm of heroin on Saturday. A team of the local CIA staff, led by ASI Anokh Singh, arrested Malkiat Singh of Rajatal (Gharinda) with 265 gm of heroin from Kasel village. Similarly, a police team, led by Sub Inspector (SI) Sukhraj Singh, in charge of the narcotic cell, arrested Dilbag Singh of Chamba Kalan from Khara village, 25 km from here, with 110 gm of heroin. Separate cases under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act have been registered at Sarai Amanat Khan and Chohla Sahib police stations, respectively. oc

House burgled

Phagwara: The house of a trader, Karnail Singh, was burgled in Udham Singh Nagar here on Saturday night. The burglars entered the house after breaking the locks. They took away Rs 1.26 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh. Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC have been slapped. OC
