Kisan unions, youth federations and other employees’ unions under the banner of the Sanjha Adhyapak Morcha gheraoed the residence of School Education Minister OP Soni here on Sunday.

A massive police force was deployed to stop the protesters from reaching the residence of Education Minister. A scuffle took place between the protesters and the police which resulted in injuries to the former. Sukhraj Singh Sarkaria, union leader, Sanjha Adhyapak Union, said, “We will continue to raise our voice. We have been assured of a meeting on November 22.”

The police used water cannons to stop the protesters from reaching their destination. More than 1,000 people gathered to stage protest against the state government.
