Youth shot at; hunt on for gangster’s kin, aides

AMRITSAR: The Amritsar rural police have booked Manpreet Singh, brother of notorious gangster Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Ghanshampuria, among five persons, including two women, for allegedly shooting Jugraj Singh of Ghanshampura village.

The Amritsar rural police have booked Manpreet Singh, brother of notorious gangster Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Ghanshampuria, among five persons, including two women, for allegedly shooting Jugraj Singh of Ghanshampura village. The victim has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is critical.

Amritpal Singh, younger brother of the victim, stated Jugraj was going in his car when he was fired at. He sustained bullet injuries in his head and chest. The accused had an argument with the victim a few days ago due to which the assault took place.

SSP Parampal Singh said raids were on to nab them who had been absconding since the incident.
