Dera row: SGPC to submit report to Akal Takht Jathedar

The probe panel formed by the SGPC to enquire into the violation of Akal Takht Hukumnama (edict) by certain political leaders by seeking support of Sirsa- based Dera Sacha Sauda head before the Assembly elections would submit its report by March 7 to Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.

This was stated by SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar here today while talking to the mediapersons after seeing off Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who paid obeisance at Golden Temple.

Justifying the delay, he said it was necessary to extend the time as there were some other parties leaders, who had met the Dera Sacha Sauda chief for seeking support and they were yet to be identified. He said the probe was on and till now 22 persons had been identified by the panel.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Pakistani Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee met the SGPC authorities for seeking their help in better management of the historic Sikh shrines in Pakistan. Badungar also appreciated the Hindu Marriage Act implemented by the Paksitan government recently.

Answering the media queries about the DSGMC elections, he said he along with several other members of the SGPC would be going to Delhi for election campaign and support the SAD candidates contesting the poll. — TNS
