Jan Sewa train from city to resume soon

AMRITSAR: Jan Sewa and Jan Nayak trains, which were stopped during the overhauling of services at the city railway station in August, will remain off track for over a fortnight in Amritsar.

Jan Sewa and Jan Nayak trains, which were stopped during the overhauling of services at the city railway station in August, will remain off track for over a fortnight in Amritsar. These trains will continue to short terminate at the Jalandhar railway station.

Jan Sewa Express connects Bihar’s Saharsa district with the holy city. A large number of people from the eastern Bihar works in factories and agriculture sector here in the city.

Jan Nayak Express connects Darbhanga district of Bihar with the local city. A passenger, Ramesh Kumar, said it was quite expensive travelling in buses to Jalandhar.

Amritsar Railway Station Officiating Director Amrit Singh said, “A meeting was recently held and it was decided to resume the journey of these trains from here within the next 20 days.”
