Married woman alleges rape, two persons booked

AMRITSAR: A married woman (32), working as a labourer, has accused a person of allegedly raping her. Following her complaint, the Jandiala police have booked two persons including a relative of the accused.

A married woman (32), working as a labourer, has accused a person of allegedly raping her. Following her complaint, the Jandiala police have booked two persons including a relative of the accused.

They were identified as Sandeep Singh alias Sonu of Bhalojala village and Jeet Singh of Bhangwa village. The incident occurred on the intervening night of August 10-11.

The complainant stated to the police that she worked as a labourer under Sandeep Singh, who was contractor. She alleged that on August 9, the accused took her to Bhangwa village to do labour. In the evening, when she was preparing to leave, the accused forcibly kept her at his uncle Jeet Singh’s home in the village. She alleged that the next morning, Sandeep and his uncle took her to Amarkot village. Jeet Singh left them at the village and went away.

She said the accused later repeatedly raped her till the next morning. On August 11, he dropped her at the Jandiala Guru bus stand. She reached home and narrated her tale of her woe to her husband.

Besides Sandeep Singh, the police have also booked Jeet Singh for his involvement in the crime. He was booked on the charge of criminal conspiracy. The police have registered a case under Sections 376, 506, 120-B and 34, IPC, against them in this connection while no arrest has been made so far.
