Shri Ram Ashram Public School organised an event, titled ‘Sharadhanjali’ to pay tributes to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh massacre. School Education Minister OP Soni was the chief guest.
The school also released its magazine ‘Lakshya’ the theme of which was Jallianwala Bagh as the massacre has completed a hundred years.
Students presented a role play showcasing sacrifices made by martyrs and freedom fighters. They focused on the atrocities committed on the innocent people who had raised their voice against the Britishers. They also depicted the massacre that took place at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar during the Baisakhi festival in April 1919 and its impact on Shaheed Udham Singh.
Soni, while addressing the audience, stressed the need to inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the young. He said, “There is a need to develop the feeling of patriotism among students. Such events are necessary to remind us about the contribution made by our freedom fighters. The freedom is a result of the efforts made by leaders, such as Mahatma Gandhi. We must work together to work towards the welfare of our nation.”
Principal Vinodita Sankhyan thanked the chief guest. Madan Lal Arora, Balbir Khanna, Dinesh Khanna and Aswani Malhotra Arun Kapoor were also present.
