AMRITSAR: Unidentified persons decamped with Rs 6.50 lakh and gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from a house in Golden Avenue here late on Thursday evening.

Unidentified persons decamped with Rs 6.50 lakh and gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from a house in Golden Avenue here late on Thursday evening. Victim Ram Kumar, along with his family, had gone to attend a marriage function when the incident took place. He stated to the police that his family left at around 9.30 pm for a marriage function at a resort at the Mahitha road bypass. He resides on the first floor of the house while his elder brother on the ground floor. The family returned at around 12.45 am and found the cash and ornaments missing. The police have registered a case. Further investigation is under progress. — TNS
