TARN TARAN: A fake travel agent has been booked for allegedly defrauding a woman of Rs 7.6 lakh. Identified as Amandeep Singh of Nizampura village in Amritsar, he took money from Dalwinder Kaur of Jauneke village with a promise of getting her son Rajpreet Singh settled in Canada

A fake travel agent has been booked for allegedly defrauding a woman of Rs 7.6 lakh. Identified as Amandeep Singh of Nizampura village in Amritsar, he took money from Dalwinder Kaur of Jauneke village with a promise of getting her son Rajpreet Singh settled in Canada. The victim informed the police that Amandeep took money from her two years ago. She said that he neither kept his promise nor returned the money. The anti-fake travel agent branch of the district police probed the matter and got a case registered under Section 420 of the IPC and 13 of the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act 2012 at Chohla Sahib police station. The victim has sought a stringent action against the accused and the return of her money.
