Two youths died and three others were left seriously injured when a speedy tractor trolley run over them in Chogwan village on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Gurwinder Singh (32) and Satnam Singh (26). The injured were Amanjot, Manpreet Singh and Nishan Singh. 

As per the case registered, the tractor-trolley driver first ran over Gurwinder Singh and later hit the scooter of three youths, who were chasing. Sarwan Singh, father of Satnam Singh, stated to the police that around 5.30 pm on Tuesday, he was standing outside his house, when an unidentified tractor trolley going towards Mehta from Amritsar hit a bike-borne youth Gurwinder Singh. He was coming from the opposite direction.  Amanjot, who was riding pillion to him, escaped with minor injuries. However, the tractor trolley did not stop and fled away from the scene. He said his son Satnam Singh, along with Manpreet Singh and Nishan Singh, chased the suspect on scooter and signalled him to stop. However, he hit their scooter and ran over Satnam Singh. Manpreet and Nishan sustained seriously injuries.

The police said a case under  has been registered against the identified tractor-trolley driver.
