Bathinda, April 26
Following the instructions issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, checking of school vans was conducted at the Maur sub-division of Bathinda on Thursday.
It was checked if the vehicles were complying with the guidelines of the Safe School Vahan Policy or not.
Special teams checked vehicles of ACTDAV School, Saraswati School and Bebe Nanki School.
The team members issued challans to 12 vans, which were found to be lacking in one way or the other.
During the surprise check, the van drivers and attendants were told that in case female students were also travelling in these school vans, the presence of a female conductor is mandatory. — TNS
