Bathinda, February 21

The Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) was conducted today at 22 centres in the city. The examination was conducted by the Central Board for Secondary Education.

As many as 13,380 aspirants appeared for the examination in the city. These included students not only from Punjab but also from adjoining cities and villages of Haryana and Rajasthan.

The centres were set up at RBDAV School, DAV College, Army School, St Kabir School, MSD School and SSD Public School among several other educational institutions.

The examination was held in two phases. The morning session was held between 9.30 am and 12 noon while the afternoon session was held between 2.30 and 4pm.

Speaking about the examination, aspirants stated that the question paper was lengthy due to which they felt hard-pressed for time. Meanwhile, some aspirants also complained about the high difficulty level of parts of child psychology, comprehension, mathematics and English sections.

Students coming to the city from Haryana said they were worried about the Jat reservation stir going on in parts of Haryana.

“To avoid getting stuck in Haryana due to road blockades, I came to Bathinda last morning and stayed at a cheap hotel near the railway station, along with two friends. I didn’t want to miss the examination as my career depends on the examination,” said Sanjay Kaushal.
