6 Excise Act cases in a day

BATHINDA: Six cases under the Excise Act have been registered in the past 24 hours in the district. In the first case, the police seized 23 boxes of Haryana-made liquor during checking at Jagah Ram Tirath village.

Six cases under the Excise Act have been registered in the past 24 hours in the district.

In the first case, the police seized 23 boxes of Haryana-made liquor during checking at Jagah Ram Tirath village.

A person identified as Mandeep Singh, a resident of Jagah Ram Tirath village, has been arrested. The police have registered a case at the Talwandi Sabo police station.

In the second case, the police seized 70 bottles of Haryana-made liquor from near Dashmesh School at Talwandi Sabo. The police succeeded in arresting one person while another person managed to escape.

The accused have been identified as Gurdas Singh of Talwandi Sabo while Vakeel Khan of the same place managed to escape. The police have registered a case against the accused at the Talwandi Sabo police station.

In the third, the police seized 160 lts of lahan by raiding a house at Tungwali village. A person, identified as Harden Singh, managed to escape from the spot. The police have registered a case against the accused at the Nathana police station.

In the fourth case, the police seized 24 bottles of Haryana-made liquor from two persons during checking at Giana village, but accused Sukha Singh and Kela Singh, residents of Giana village, managed to escape from the spot. A case has been registered at the Rama police station.

In the fifth acse, the police seized 30 lts of lahan by raiding a house at Mandi Kalan village. A person, identified as Balkaran Singh, managed to escape from the spot. The police have registered a case against the accused at the Ballianwali police station.

In the sixth case, the police seized 20 lts of illicit liquor during checking at Tungwali village. Accused Sandeep Singh of Tungwali was nabbed from the spot. A case has been registered against the accused at the Nathana police station. — TNS
