BATHINDA: Baba Farid Senior Secondary School organised a two-day BFGI Inter School Sports Meet-2018 for the first time in which cricket, table tennis, chess, volleyball and basketball events will be organised.

Baba Farid Senior Secondary School organised a two-day BFGI Inter School Sports Meet-2018 for the first time in which cricket, table tennis, chess, volleyball and basketball events will be organised.

More than 1,500 players from over 100 government and private schools of Punjab and neighbouring states like Rajasthan and Haryana will participate.

Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, on Tuesday inaugurated the meet by lighting the traditional lamp. On the occasion, Dr Pardeep Kaura, deputy director (academics), BD Sharma, deputy director (career guidance and counselling), Dr Jai Ashish Sethi, assistant director (academics), principals, HoDs faculty and staff members of various schools/colleges of Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) were present.

He said we should pay attention to our health and wellbeing. We should compete with ourselves so that we could know about our shortcomings and could promote our qualities by removing those shortcomings.

After this, cricket, volleyball and basketball matches were started in the playground of BFGI while indoor games such as table tennis and chess matches started in the main seminar hall of BFGI.
