City doc wins prize in marathon

BATHINDA: The first Sai International Marathon, Shirdi, was organised by the Run Buddies Club at Shirdi in Pune (Maharashtra) recently.

The first Sai International Marathon, Shirdi, was organised by the Run Buddies Club at Shirdi in Pune (Maharashtra) recently.

Dr Maninder Paul Singh, SMO, Rama Mandi, participated in the full marathon of 42 km. He finished the run and won the second prize in the veteran category by clocking 3 hrs and 54 minutes. This was also his personal best timing for the full marathon.

Deputy Medical Commissioner (DMC) Dr SS Romana, who accompanied him to Shirdi by road, congratulated him for finishing the marathon in less than four hours. He has dedicated the prize to MR (measles-rubella) campaign to be launched by the Punjab Health and Family Welfare Dept in the coming months. — TNS
