DC directs Local Bodies to maintain cleanliness

MANSA: Officiating Deputy Commissioner of Mansa Rajdeep Singh Brar on Tuesday directed the municipal bodies to ensure 100 per cent garbage collection in their areas for ensuring cleanliness.

Officiating Deputy Commissioner of Mansa Rajdeep Singh Brar on Tuesday directed the municipal bodies to ensure 100 per cent garbage collection in their areas for ensuring cleanliness.

Passing the instructions during the monthly meeting of all departments, Brar directed the municipal bodies to ensure that all secondary collection points in their respective areas were swept clean on time and garbage was collected. He called upon the people to pay user charges so that the money collected could be used for the betterment of areas.

The Local Bodies Department was directed to ensure that usage of plastic was completely banned in areas and that not even a single shop should sell its products in plastic bags. He said strict monitoring should not only be done due to government orders, but also out of one’s moral responsibility towards the environment.

Earlier, while reviewing the works of revenue officials, he directed them to make necessary entries into the records and ensure that people were not harassed while getting their works regarding revenue records done. He discussed the pendency of the Punjab Land Revenue Society (PLRS) and the works related to Sewa Kendras.

Discussing the road safety issue, he directed officers to ensure that no underage drivers should be allowed to ply on the roads. The police were directed to ensure that underage drivers be challaned to dissuade youngsters from driving. Convening a meeting on the development works, he said all the departments concerned should submit their pending utility certificates about the works done. Reviewing civil and developmental works, he directed that all the works should be conducted in a transparent manner.

ADC (D) Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Budhlada SDM Aditya Dachalwal, Mansa SDM Navdeep Kumar, Sardulgarh SDM Rajpal Singh, DDPO Dinesh Vashisht, DPO Avinash Kaur Walia, DSSO Lovleen Birring and others were also present.
