BATHINDA: The CIA-1 wing of the Bathinda police busted a gang of thieves with the arrest of its five members.

Bathinda, August 12

The CIA-1 wing of the Bathinda police busted a gang of thieves with the arrest of its five members.

Members of the gang have stolen electronic material from government schools.

One member of this gang is absconding. A case has been registered at the Nandgarh police station against six persons under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC.

Rajinder Kumar, in-charge of the CIA-1, said the arrested accused had been identified as Amritpal Singh, Rampal Singh, Rajpal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, residents of Bambiha village and Manpreet Singh, a resident of Rai Khurd village. The accused Pargat Singh has been absconding.

Rajinder Kumar said the CIA-1 team led by ASI Kaur Singh received a tip-off that the accused had formed a gang and they had stolen computers, LEDs, and other electronic gadgets from schools.

As per information given to the police, all accused were present at Bambiha village today. The police have recovered 12 LCDs, 2 LEDs, 1 gas cylinder, 2 key-boards and other material, he added.

Two incidents of theft have been traced, including the theft at the anganwari centre at Bambiha village and Government School at Jangirana village, he added.

The accused were produced in the court and they have been sent on one-day police remand. — TNS
