Mansa boy tops in UGC’s JRF exam

BATHINDA: Ankush Kumar (25), an alumnus of Guru Nanak College, Budhlada, has bagged the All-India first rank in the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) exam, jointly conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC ).

Ankush Kumar (25), an alumnus of Guru Nanak College, Budhlada, has bagged the All-India first rank in the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) exam, jointly conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC ).

The exam was held in June this year, the result of which was declared in October. As many as 900 of the total 40, 000 candidates cleared the JRF exam.

Ankush, who passed MSc (Mathematics) from Guru Nanak College Budhlada last year, scored 165 marks out of total 200.

“I took six months coaching from Delhi after passing out from my college. The credit also goes to my college teachers who helped me in making my base strong in mathematics. My mathematics professor, Harpreet Singh, helped me a lot. I am thankful to almighty, my parents and my teachers at Delhi Coaching Institute as well as my school teachers.”

Kuldip Singh Bal, Principal, Guru Nanak College Budhlada, said, “Ankush was a brilliant student and had always brought laurels to the college. He topped in the college merit list of MSc Mathematics exams. He was passionate about his goal to top in the exam whichever he used to give.”
