Married women get chance to walk the ramp

BATHINDA: Auditions for ‘Mrs Punjab 2017’, a beauty pageant for married women, were held in the city today. The event saw participation of women from various districts of the state, said Parminder Singh of Nine to Nine Entertainment, the production house that is organising the pageant.

Bathinda, June 25

Auditions for ‘Mrs Punjab 2017’, a beauty pageant for married women, were held in the city today.

The event saw participation of women from various districts of the state, said Parminder Singh of Nine to Nine Entertainment, the production house that is organising the pageant.

The auditions were judged by a panel comprising of three judges — Himani Deswal who has won the title of Mrs Universe East Asia 2017, Pawan and actress Preet Aulakh.

Parminder Singh said, “Forty-two women participated in the auditions today, of whom five semi-finalists were selected — Deepti Bansal, Harpreet, Rishamjit, Lovepreet and Rimmy Honda. After the successful completion of auditions in Ludhiana, Amritsar and Bathinda, now we are heading towards other cities, including Jalandhar, Chandigarh and Patiala.”

The final round would be held at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana, on August 5.

Himani Deswal said, “The event is being organised to give a platform to married women to walk the ramp. The winner will get a chance to work in the film industry.”

Actress Preet Aulakh said, ‘To me beauty is about being comfortable and believing in yourself. The best project you’ll ever work on is your own self.” — TNS
