BATHINDA: A film based on Mintu Gursariya, the writer of a book, ‘Dakuan da Munda’ (Bandits’ Son), will hit the silver screen soon. His book has become popular among the Punjab youth.

A film based on Mintu Gursariya, the writer of a book, ‘Dakuan da Munda’ (Bandits’ Son), will hit the silver screen soon. His book has become popular among the Punjab youth.

During his recent visit to the city, he talked about the movie. He was accompanied by actors Dev Kharoud, Lucky Dhaliwal, Jagjeet Sandhu and Sukhdeep Sukh.

Mintu said, “After getting a good response to my book from readers, a movie based on my life will be released very soon. My book also dwells upon the events that happened in my life.”

He said, “My book is receiving a good response from readers, especially from the youngsters, who somehow related their life to my book. I am working for those who were addicted to drugs and were involved in criminal activities in the past. I am trying to create awareness that they can also start their life afresh. A chance to begin a new life should be given to them.”

“Coincidentally, the Dream Reality Movies production house and my thoughts were same. We decided to make a movie based on my book,” Mintu added.

Meanwhile, actor Dev Kharoud, said, “The film will be released on September 7, 2018. I am going to play the role of Mintu Gursariya in the movie. Hopefully, the youngsters will get inspiration from the movie. Most importantly, the point of view of society towards drug addicts will change after seeing the movie.”

Mintu said, “A number of youngsters call me up almost every day to say that they are inspired by my book and have decided to shun drugs. I had never expected that I can do that in my life. Now, I can proudly say if I can shun drugs, why not anybody else.”
