Selling of scrap to come up in F&CC meeting

BATHINDA: The meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) is scheduled to be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of Mayor Balwant Roy Nath.

The meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) is scheduled to be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of Mayor Balwant Roy Nath.

During the meeting, six proposals regarding selling of various types of scrap lying in the MC’s office would be brought up.

Besides, the proposal to give contract for picking up dead animals in the city has also been included in the agenda. In the report submitted by the superintendent office, it has been stated that an open bid was held on August 7 to sell newspaper scrap in which 14 persons participated.

The MCB had quoted Rs 8 per kg for this proposal but Sadam Ram of Sunam made the highest bid of Rs 16.10 per kg. For copper scrap, the MCB kept an estimated rate at Rs 31 per kg for which Moga’s Darshan Lal made the highest bid at Rs 91 a kg. For selling silver scrap, the MCB kept an estimated rate of Rs 82 per kg for which a Sunam resident bade for Rs 153 per kg. The MCB kept the price for iron at Rs 18 per kg while Sukum Singh of Sunam bade at Rs 27.30 kg. The bid for sale of light iron was kept at Rs 15.50 while Sadhu Singh of Sunam offered Rs 24.50. These bids will be taken up in the meeting for approval.
