Two booked for covering faces while riding two-wheelers

MALOUT: Continuing its action against people riding two-wheelers with their faces covered, the Malout (City) police on Monday booked two more persons.

Malout, December 11

Continuing its action against people riding two-wheelers with their faces covered, the Malout (City) police on Monday booked two more persons.

Under this drive, which had started about two months ago, a large number of people have been booked so far.

Notably, a number of loot incidents have taken place in the past involving people covering their faces with some piece of cloth.

Even the District Magistrate has imposed a ban on it, using the powers enshrined under Section 144 of the CrPC.

In the latest two instances, the Malout (City) police booked Vipan Kumar of Patel Nagar and Dhiraj Kumar of Fazilka for the same offence.

The police said that it would continue taking action against the offenders in future as well and advise people not to cover their faces while riding two-wheelers.

However, some local residents said in the cold, it becomes a tough task to ride two-wheelers without covering the face. — TNS
