Faridkot: The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at Red Cross School for Special Children in Faridkot on Tuesday. Jyoti Singh Raj, chairperson of the Red Cross Society, was the chief guest.

Faridkot: The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at Red Cross School for Special Children in Faridkot on Tuesday. Jyoti Singh Raj, chairperson of the Red Cross Society, was the chief guest. Sports events were also organised for the children. Parents and relatives of children participated in the celebrations. The chairperson informed parents and attendants of the children about the state and the Central Government sponsored schemes. Chhinder Pal Kaur, district social security officer, said, as many as 5,201 disabled persons were given pension benefits in Faridkot district. TNS

City doctor to deliver lecture 

Bathinda: Members of the Association of Physicians of India (Malwa branch) have congratulated professor Dr Vitull K Gupta on being invited to deliver two guest lecturers at the 71st annual conference of Cardiological Society of India in New Delhi beginning December 5. In a release issued by the Malwa branch said this was a great honour as Dr Vitull has been invited to deliver guest lectures at a prestigious national conference of cardiologists. He would be delivering the guest lecture on ‘ethical considerations in cardiology practice’ and ‘challenges in medical education’. TNS
