NEW DELHI: InterGlobe Aviation, parent of IndiGo, on Wednesday reported a 75% fall in profit after tax at Rs 190.9 crore in the December quarter as high fuel prices and currency depreciation adversely impacted the bottomline.



NEW DELHI: InterGlobe Aviation, parent of IndiGo, on Wednesday reported a 75% fall in profit after tax at Rs 190.9 crore in the December quarter as high fuel prices and currency depreciation adversely impacted the bottomline. The airline had a profit after tax of Rs 762 crore in the corresponding period of 2017-18. The carrier’s total income rose over 28% to Rs 8,229.4 crore in the three months ended December 2018. In the year-ago period, the same stood at Rs 6,409 crore. PTI

BSNL rolls out 4G services in Punjab

Anandpur Sahib: BSNL on Wednesday launched 4G services in Anandpur Sahib and Nangal. The service was launched by Punjab Speaker Rana KP Singh. BSNL’s chief general manager telecom, Punjab Circle, JC Menaria and other district administration officials were present on the occasion. Menaria said 4G Services would be launched in other cities of Punjab soon. He said with the launch of 4G services, BSNL customers will be able to use multimedia and all services of the Government of India launched under ‘Digital India’ initiative on their mobiles. PTI

Apex court denies bail to Unitech promoters

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused bail to Unitech promoters Sanjay Chandra and Ajay Chandra in a case relating to alleged siphoning off the home-buyers’ money. A Bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and Hemant Gupta said they have not complied with its October 30, 2017 order which asked them to deposit Rs 750 crore with the apex court registry. Lodged in Tihar jail for over one and half years, the two have sought bail on the ground that they are complying with the apex court order and have deposited over 400 crore.  PTI
