Mystery shrouds death of a 16-year-old youth, whose body was found hanging at the top floor of a society in Zirakpur on Saturday. While the police termed it as suicide case, kin of the deceased alleged foul play into the incident terming it as murder case. However, the police are conducting an inquiry from all possible angles.

The deceased has been identified as Fehzaan Khan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was at present living in Zirakpur. According to sources, the deceased left home around 7 am on Friday for his work place. However, he never returned back at his rented accommodation in Zirakpur.

The elder brother of the deceased, Aftab, came to know that his brother’s body was found hanging from a staircase at Rishi Apartment, in Zirakpur, on Saturday.

Aftab alleged it was a case of murder while the police stated that it was suicide. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary at the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi, for the postmortem. The police have initiated an inquest proceeding.

Man arrested for stabbing youth

Chandigarh: The police have arrested a resident of Mauli Complex for allegedly stabbing a youth here. In a complaint to the police, a resident of Mauli Jagran alleged that Pankaj, alias Babbu, thrashed and stabbed her son near their residence on Friday. The victim identified as Bittu received injuries and was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Mani Majra. Later, he was referred to the GMCH, Sector 32. On her complaint, the police have registered a case under Sections 308 and 506, IPC, at the Mauli Jagran police station.
