2 held with opium, charas

KHARAR:The CIA Staff, Kharar, have arrested Chokha Ram (22) following a recovery of 1 kg of opium from his possession.

The CIA Staff, Kharar, have arrested Chokha Ram (22) following a recovery of 1 kg of opium from his possession. 

As per CIA in charge Tirlochan Singh, ASI Harbhajan Singh, along with a police team, was patrolling near Daun Majra village when he got a secret information that Chokha Ram, who hails from Rajasthan, is roaming around in the area with opium. 

The police party arrested the accused along with the opium. During interrogation, he told the police that he was a student of journalism course at Chandigarh University, Gharuan. 

He used to bring opium from Rajasthan and sell it to his permanent customers in the area. 

He had been remanded in a one-day police custody by a local court.

In another incident, the Kharar City police have arrested Shally Gill following the recovery of 3.5 kg ganja from his possession. 

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him at the Kharar City police station. 

Kharar Station House Officer (SHO) Satnam Singh said ASI Jewan Singh was patrolling on the Gill road when he spotted a youngster coming on a motorcycle. 

The accused was stopped and during a search, 3.5 kg of ganja was recovered from his possession. 

He said the accused used to bring ganja from Ambala City and sell it to his customers in the area.
