Panchkula, June 23

Four months after a 15-year-old girl of Sector 19 was found dead in her house, the Panchkula police have booked two persons, including a woman, for allegedly murdering her on February 26.

Maya, victim’s widowed mother, told the police that their neighbours informed them that two suspects had visited their house on the day of the incident.

The police said Maya, in her complaint submitted today, stated that she had two children — 19-year-old son Sidhant and 15-year-old daughter Simran. On February 26 this year, Simran had called up Sidhant on the mobile for a meal. After about half an hour, when he visited the house, he found Simran unconscious on the bed. Her teddy bear had also been damaged. When they removed the blanket, half of her clothes were found removed. They took her to the Civil Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The police said the mother-son duo was in a state of shock and did not suspect murder. The mother had stated that the body of the victim had been handed over to them after a postmortem.

She said after some days, their neighbours told them that they had seen two suspects, Dhruv and Suman, who had come on Activa scooter, entering the house that day. She said when they checked the mobile phone of Simran, she had received calls from the two mobile numbers the same day even though she was not on talking terms with Dhruv. She alleged that the two had either offered her some eatable laced with poison or killed her by some other means.

The Sector 20 police have registered a case against Dhruv and Suman under Sections 302, 452 and 34 of the IPC.
