ABVP holds sit-in at DUI office

Leaders of the ABVP held a sit-in at the office of the Dean of University Instructions (DUI) over promoting students from BSc to masters on Monday.



Leaders of the ABVP held a sit-in at the office of the Dean of University Instructions (DUI) over promoting students from BSc to masters on Monday. Harmanjot Singh and Krishan Sheoran, leaders of the ABVP, had been demanding that the students, who had lesser credits than 108 in BSc, should also be promoted to MSc. The leaders were pacified after the intervention of Prof Emanual Nahar, Dean Students Welfare, and Prof Ranjan Kumar, Associate Dean. Prof Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examinations, assured them of giving a special chance to students, who had credits lesser than 108, to clear their re-appear in September. 

Rayat-Bahra conducts induction

The Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus on Monday started the new academic session with induction training programme for the new students. The induction programme aimed at providing the students with necessary information and exposure to perform well. Dr Suresh Seth, Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus, welcomed the students. He said by securing a seat in the institution, the students had taken an initial step towards achieving their goals. — TNS
