CHANDIGARH:AG Punjab registered a 17-run win against AG Himachal to win the North Indian Audit & Accounts Department Cricket T-20 Championship, concluded at the Sector 16 cricket stadium, on Saturday.

Chandigarh, February 10 

AG Punjab registered a 17-run win against AG Himachal to win the North Indian Audit & Accounts Department Cricket T-20 Championship, concluded at the Sector 16 cricket stadium, on Saturday. 

Winning the toss, AG Punjab skipper Amit Prashar elected to bat first. The side scored 144/9 in allotted 20 overs.  Prashant Chopra led from the front as he posted 50 off 44 balls, with two boundaries and two sixes. His innings was well appreciated by Akash Vashisht (33 off 22 balls). However, other batsmen failed to contribute much to the total. Lovely (3/22) was the pick of the bowlers, while Amit Thakur (2/23), Akshay Chauhan (2/23) and Abhimanyu Rana (1/6) also claimed wickets. 

AG Himachal however failed in  their attempt and scored 127/5 in allotted overs. Abhimanyu Rana emerged as the best scorer for Himachal, as he scored 60 off 62 balls, studded two boundaries and one six). 

Amit Thakur (35 off 38 balls) was the other notable run scorer for the side. Meanwhile, Bharat Lumba (2/28), Jitender Billa (1/22) and Akash Vashisht (1/28) claimed wickets for the bowling side. —TNS
