AKSIPS-45 excels in taekwondo

Chandigarh: Taekwondo Champions of AKSIPS-45 brought laurels to the school by giving a marvellous performance in the Stepping Stones Open Taekwondo Championship held at Stepping Stones School, Sector 38, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh: Taekwondo Champions of AKSIPS-45 brought laurels to the school by giving a marvellous performance in the Stepping Stones Open Taekwondo Championship held at Stepping Stones School, Sector 38, Chandigarh. Shreya bagged a silver medal, Bharti and Khushi bagged bronze medals, whereas Rajat of Class X bagged a silver, the trophy of ‘Best Male Fighter’ was awarded to Rajat. Director-principal Dr Jasmine Kalra congratulated the winners.

Flag Day

Chandigarh: The Flag Day of the Bharat Scouts and Guides was commemorated at DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, to spread the message of scouting and guiding among today’s youth, motivating them to serve humanity. Prinicipal Anuja Sharma congratulated girl guides for their earnest endeavours towards the uplift of society and encouraged every child of the school to follow their exemplary efforts. A plethora of activities, including prayer, songs, speeches and poems on women empowerment, were showcased by the students with great zeal and fervour. The Bharat Scouts and Guides’ flag was hoisted by Prinicipal Anuja Sharma and in-charges Sangeeta Gill and Manisha.

‘Bhajan sandhya’

Chandigarh: As a regular annual feature of the school, ‘bhajan sandhya’ was organised at DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh. The evening began with the lighting of lamp. School principal Jaskiran Harika greeted guests and parents of the participating students of Classes VII and VIII. She emphasised on the importance of yajnas and vedic prayers in everyone’s life in the prevailing scenario of society. The students mesmerised the audience by their bhajan presentations. The parents of the children were overwhelmed with joy to see their children performing with chastity. On the occasion, Dau Dayal ji presented bhajans and Vikram Viveki ji forwarded his thoughts on Vedic teachings to inculcate moral values in children that touched one and all present. The evening was concluded by a recitation of ‘shanti path’, followed by the distribution of ‘prasadam’ among all.

Inter-house quiz

Chandigarh: RIMT World School, Mani Majra, organised an ‘Inter-House Quizomania’ for Classes VI and VII to help students discover mysteries of science and develop an interest in scientific development. The event witnessed enthusiastic preparation and participation. The format of the quiz entailed four rounds for each house, namely rapid fire, unscramble the scrambled, visual and open. Though teams participated actively, the team that scored the most was Valour House, which was followed by Endurance House which bagged the second position. It was a great learning experience for the students. Principal Poonam Katoch applauded the winners and encouraged the children to apply scientific knowledge and gain conceptual clarity about scientific facts as it was the need of the hour.

Social science activity

Chandigarh: Students of Class V of AKSIPS-41 Smart School, Chandigarh, conducted a social science activity on ‘The Age of Machines’ by making working models of the solar cooker and windmill in the activity period with enthusiasm. The purpose was to  learn how solar energy was converted into heat energy and wind energy converted into electricity. — TNS
