CHANDIGARH:An all-round effort helped The British School, Sector 44, register a six-wicket win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32, in The Tribune Inter-School T20 Cricket Championship match here on Tuesday.

Chandigarh, January 29

An all-round effort helped The British School, Sector 44, register a six-wicket win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32, in The Tribune Inter-School T20 Cricket Championship match here on Tuesday. 

Opting to bat, Saupin’s boys scored 112/4 in 20 overs. Aryan Bhatia made an unbeaten 54, while Lakshya struck 31 of 30 balls. Sahil was the most effective bowler for The British School, claiming 2/17.  

Chasing the modest total, The British School reached home with six wickets to spare. Ranjodh hit a vital 34, while Akshit contributed 25 runs to the chase. For Saupin’s School, Arash (2/23) and Aryan (2/30) claimed two wickets apiece.

In the second match of the day, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School bowlers struck in unison to help the side beat Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, by eight wickets.

Electing to bowl, St Joseph’s attack led by Himank bundled out Guru Nanak boys for just 82 runs. Himank claimed 3/14, while Jaskirat (2/14) and Aryan (2/21) bagged two wickets each. 

Sharan (27) did the bulk of scoring for Guru Nanak School. Ansh added 13 runs to the total. 

In reply, St Joseph’s romped home with eight wickets in hand. Aryan Verma hit a 38-ball 31, while Ranvijay made 26 off 35 balls. Ansh claimed 1/10 for Guru Nanak School. — TNS
