SHARDA SARVHITKARI:Carmel Convent School inaugurated its radio channel, designed to air students’ views on a global platform.



Carmel Convent School inaugurated its radio channel, designed to air students’ views on a global platform. YOMENTO channel takes its name from YO, standing for youth, and MENTO, for mentor. SP Singh, Director, Institute of Radio Jockeying, and Gunjeet Kaur, a radio jockey, initiated the first broadcast, along with some students of the school. The channel will be a platform for students of Carmel Convent to express themselves on topics such as generation gap, peer pressure and feminism. Recording will be done once a month. The purpose behind this channel is to give wings to budding leaders and speakers from the school.

Sharda Sarvhitkari, Chandigarh 

To beat the heat, a ‘splash pool party’ was arranged for the students of the kindergarten section of Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh. Kids were dressed in colorful swimming costumes for the party. They tapped their feet to famous songs and recited poems on rainy day. 

St Soldier Paradise, Dhakoli

An awareness session was conducted at St Soldier Paradise School, wherein topics associated with menstruation were explained by Surinder Kaur Gambhir from Paras Bliss Hospital to adolescent school girls. The session was to help girls to overcome their problems.

Adarsh Public, Chandigarh

Tiny tots of pre-primary wing, teachers and mothers of toddlers celebrated Mother’s Day with enthusiasm on the school premises. A special programme was organised wherein students expressed their views through theme-based games, songs and rhymes. Prizes were given away to winners. The event ended up with fond memories and light refreshment.

The Holy Wonder, kharar

The Holy Wonder School celebrated Mother’s Day on its campus. A cultural programme was organised for mothers. A solo dance competition and various other performance were held. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

A team of Japanese educators headed by Masahiro Hara visited Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula. The agenda of the visit was to get an insight into the working of Indian schools. The team showed special interest in the self-paced online learning tools of the school. Principal Gulshan Kaur was also present on the occasion. 

AKSIPS-65, Mohali

Mother's Day was celebrated at AKSIPS-65 Smart School, Mohali.  Students from pre-nursery to Class II organised a grand celebration. Mothers were also invited to the celebrations. A renowned gynaecologist, Dr Ritambra Bhalla, told the participants about ways to take care of their health. tns
