CHANDIGARH:The boys team of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, won twin titles on the concluding day of the CBSE XVIII Football Cluster Championship at St Soldier International School, Sector 28, here today.

The boys team of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, won twin titles on the concluding day of the CBSE XVIII Football Cluster Championship at St Soldier International School, Sector 28, here today. Chitkara boys won both the U-17 and U-19 titles. In the final of the U-19 category, Chitkara defeated hosts 3-0. Saksham opened the team’s account in the 17th minute while Sujal Jaiswal doubled the lead in the 25th minute. Arjit Rawat scored the third goal in the 32nd minute.

Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, registered a 3-0 win against Guru Nanak Mission School, Paonta Sahib, to finish third. Ashish netted two goals and Karan added one to the tally. In the U-17 category, Chitkara boys defeated Vivek International School, Baddi, 4-0. Ayush scored the first goal in the 9th minute while Alankar added three in the 18th, 20th and 22nd minutes to seal the win. The hosts finished third after a 1-0 win over Guru Nanak Mission School. Aryan scored the goal in the 15th minute. —TNS
