CM’s Flying Squad arrests 2 HUDA officials, middleman

PANCHKULA: A joint team of the CM’s Flying Squad of Panchkula and Ambala arrested two officials of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and a middleman in connection with fraud here today.

A joint team of the CM’s Flying Squad of Panchkula and Ambala arrested two officials of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and a middleman in connection with fraud here today.

The team conducted a raid at HUDA’s Sector 6 office and arrested Vijay Sangha, an assistant posted with the HUDA’s Panchkula Estate Office Wing, and Harneet Singh of the IT Department.

Besides, a local property dealer, Rakesh Kumar Dhanda, who was a middleman, was also arrested in connection with corruption charges.

Sources revealed that the HUDA officials and the middleman were involved in illegal transfer of plots.

The team headed by DSP Raj Kumar questioned the HUDA officials for nearly 4-5 hours and later arrested three people. The police also recovered some files from the car of the middleman property dealer.

DSP Raj Kumar said the case related to corruption and more arrests would likely take place in the coming days.

Sources revealed that the HUDA officials, along with the middleman, were involved in corruption in the allotment of plots. The CM’s Flying Squad received a complaint in this regard. Thereafter, an inquiry was started. After the completion of the inquiry, they were arrested today.
