Cooking competition held

As per the directive of the Education Department and under the Poshan Abhiyaan Jan Andolan, a cooking competition was held at Government Model High School, Mauli Colony.

Govt Model High School

As per the directive of the Education Department and under the Poshan Abhiyaan Jan Andolan, a cooking competition was held at Government Model High School, Mauli Colony. About 20 school teachers participated in the event. Prabha Bhainsora was adjudged the winner for cooking healthy food. While Mamta Yadav came second, Asha Saini stood third and Sukhwinder Singh was adjudged fourth in the competition. The judges were Suman, Aarti, Naveen, Dinesh Kumar and Manoj Kumar. School in-charge Manoj Kumar gave away prizes to the winners. 

St Xavier’s High School

Ad-Mad World show was conducted in the junior wing of St Xavier’s High School, Panchkula. Children came up with some wonderful jingles and advertisements with fun quotient. Headmistress Cynthia Shear appreciated the children for coming up with great ideas. 

AKSIPS-41 Smart School

A special assembly on Ganesh Chaturthi was presented by the students of Class V of AKSIPS-41 Smart School. The assembly began with Ganesh Vandana. Students presented a small play followed by a dance. Jasdeep Kalra, executive director of AKSIPS Group of Smart Schools and Ritu Bali, Principal, performed the ‘aarti’ and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha. 

AKSIPS-125 

September 21 was celebrated as International Peace Day at AKSIPS-125. A poster-making competition was conducted for students of Class III. They made beautiful posters by creating different types of border shading. Students displayed a great interest during the activity and the purpose was to make them understand the importance of peace worldwide. Principal Jagjit Sekhon appreciated the efforts put in by the students.

Bhavan Vidyalaya

Six students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula — Tanish Tuteja, Aniket Chaudhari, Dhavnit Beniwal, Gurpreet Singh, Harman Singh and Anuj Pradhan — cracked India’s most prestigious talent search exam conducted by the NCERT, i.e. NTSE (National Talent Search Exam). These Students will get scholarship Rs 1,250 per month. 

St Joseph’s School

Qbiz, a national-level business quiz was organised by the Indian location of University of Fraser Valley (British Columbia Canada). The round one was held at St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School. The quiz tested students on the knowledge of current affairs and their business acumen. Karanvir of Class XII (humanities), Sukriti of Class XII (humanities) and Jaspal of Class XII (commerce) clinched the first, second and third positions, respectively. They will take part in the second round where they will be competing with other participating schools. TNS
