Chandigarh, May 10
The head constable of the Haryana Police, from whose custody an undertrial in an NDPS case had escaped from the GMCH-32, on May 8, has been booked for negligence.
The undertrial, Dilbag Singh (43), a resident of Ambala district, was brought to the hospital for a check-up when he fled from the custody of a police team, headed by an ASI. The police said a complaint against head constable Surinder was received from sub-inspector Jasbir Singh, in-charge, Prisoners Guard, Haryana Police.
A case under Section 223 of the IPC has been registered against the cop at the Sector 34 police station. — TNS
