A meeting of the civic body’s Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) was held here on Friday.
MC Commissioner Gurureet Singh Khaira said a proposal for one-time clearing of garbage in the city was added to agenda items and it was passed at the meeting.
He said the civic body would float a tender for the work in January.
“The MC on Friday brought in a proposal worth around Rs 50 lakh for clearing the debris lying at various sites. The work under the project will be held ward wise. The required vehicles will be provided to initiate the work. The proposal has been passed. We will procure trailers and hire labourers by mid-February. Thereafter, the work will start,” he added.
The MC Commissioner said work orders for various works, including construction and re-carpeting of roads in Jagdish Colony, Ward No. 35, 36 and 51, laying of CC floring and interlocking tiles at various places, were passed at the meeting. He added the works will be completed as per the allocation of resources from the MC fund and CM grant.
