Panchkula, August 8

Two persons were injured, one of them seriously, when the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a tipper coming from the opposite direction.

The victims have been identified as Pawan Kumar of Trivenia Kalan village in Siwan district, Bihar, and Jitender Kumar of Dharamgarh village near Panipat. At present, they were living in a rented accommodation in Raipur Rani.

Pawan told the police on Wednesday that he, along with Jitender, was going to HDFC Bank in Raipur Rani around 2.30 pm on August 8 on Jitender’s motorcycle.

He said when they reached near Manakpur Tabra village on the Trilokpur-Raipur Rani road, a rashly driven tipper coming from the opposite direction took a right turn and hit their motorcycle. Jitender suffered serious injuries in the head and the chest.

He said passers-by shifted them to the Community Health Centre in Raipur Rani from where doctors referred Jitender to the GMCH-32 while he was discharged after administering first-aid. Employees present at the CHC took Jitender to the PGI. A case has been registered against the unidentified tipper driver. — TNS
