Hit by vehicle, cyclist dies

CHANDIGARH:A 43-year-old cyclist, a resident of Kansal village in Mohali, was killed after being hit by a government vehicle near the Railway light point on November 17.

A 43-year-old cyclist, a resident of Kansal village in Mohali, was killed after being hit by a government vehicle near the Railway light point on November 17. According to the police, the complainant, Deepak Garg, reported that a Bolero vehicle, being driven by Wankher of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Punjab and Haryana Secretariat, Sector 1, hit a cyclist near the Railway light point, leaving him injured.

The police said the victim, identified as Nanhke, a resident of Kansal village, was seriously injured and taken to the GMSH-16, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

A case has been registered against the driver at the IT Park police station. The driver was arrested and later released on bail. —TNS
