Hotel manager held for dentist’s gang rape

The local police arrested a hotel manager for the gang rape of a dentist in Panchkula today.

The FIR for the gang rape was registered against four persons yesterday after the victim, aged around 25, recorded her statement at the PGI.

“We have made one arrest so far. The suspect is Vikram, who works as a hotel manager in Zirakpur,” said Inspector Ajit Singh, SHO of the women police station, Sector 5, Panchkula.

He said they got a call from the PGI that a girl was recuperating and wanted to file a complaint. After recording her complaint, the FIR was registered.

Vikram was a friend of the victim. According to the victim, they met at a hotel in Sector 11, Panchkula, where she was allegedly administered drugs through an injection. Vikram’s friends were also present there. She complained that all four took turns and raped her. Her condition deteriorated and she had to be admitted to the PGI. The police said whether she was administered drugs would become clear only in the medical report.“The other three suspects are absconding. We are making efforts to arrest them,” said ACP Noopur Bishnoi. Vikram will be produced before the court on Tuesday.
